Aspen Kennedy joins ‘Thunder Road’ - Nascar drama for AMC Network

EXCLUSIVE: Josh Macqueen (Motorheads), Aspen Kennedy (Queen Sugar), Haley Dillon (Blue Ridge) and Mackenzie Porter (9-1-1: Nashville) round out the cast of AMC‘s NASCAR drama series Thunder Road. The series will debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2027.

From John Fusco, Thunder Road is the multi-generational saga of the fictional Whitlock family, whose legacy in stock car racing is as deep as the family’s ties to the Southern hill country roots that shaped them.

In Thunder Road, Dennis Quaid stars as racing legend Duane Whitlock, aka The Wrecking Ball, a towering figure who built a racing empire from a legacy of moonshine runs and dirt tracks and refuses to let it die. With ruthless competitors who will stop at nothing to dethrone and destroy them, the Whitlocks are a blue-collar dynasty at the edge of extinction – and the old king is fighting to hold onto the crown.

Kennedy will heavily recur as Bobby “Breeze” Roberts, who is every sponsor’s dream: easygoing, personable, and as dependable off the track as he is on it. His consistent performance has made him an asset to Whitlock Racing Team, but beneath his cool exterior burns an ambition to escape the middle of the pack and start chasing checkered flags.

Kennedy landed his first network television role on OWN’s Queen Sugar, which he followed up with a leading film role in Sony Pictures’ The Forge. Kennedy recently recurred on CBS’ hit series Fire Country. Up next, he is set to star in the upcoming western, Florida Wild. Kennedy is represented by CGEM Talent, J.
